Shallow Water Grouper

If you have ever been grouper fishing usually you send a bait to the bottom and wait for the grouper to come around and crank them up. Most people would not think you could catch 10-15lb. grouper in 8ft of water. One of the most unique fisheries on the west coast is the section of bay port to crystal river. When the water cools down the grouper move into the shallows and targeting them becomes a unique experience. Having grouper come to the surface of the water and blowing bait out of the water resembling snook is a site to see. During the months of October – December, you have the opportunity to catch a trophy grouper in a couple of hours of fishing.
